In the second semester I designed stripper pliers. I simplified the mechanism by eliminating the axles, and replacing them with flexible arches. When the two arches are pressed against each other, they strip the wires easily.
The problem with regular stripper pliers is the overcomplicated mechanism. They all have way too many moving parts and axles. I've replaced all of them, and created the same kind of movement with 4 parts altogether by using the characteristics of the materials.
By using metal sheet, I was able to use folds to create rigid and flexible parts of the same material.
