Pfizer HandyGrip
This was a design competition to create an aid for people living with the disease called Rheumatoid Arthritis. This is an auto-immune disease, that attacks the joints, mainly in the hand. The hand becomes weak and painful. We designed a product-system that can create the ideal home for a patient. There is one handle with three different attachable heads. Each head has its own purpose. The user can attach the handle to the heads easily. This design won the competition, and went into production.

The system has a comfortable grip, and 2 heads that can be attached to it. There is one for making ordinary handles more comfortable by adding a perpendicular grip and one for opening bottles easily.
Prototyping and user testing was extremely important in this case, because it was impossible for us to truly experience the same problems as the people living with this illness.
After presenting our concept to the jury, we won the competition, and our idea became a real product that was manufactured and distributed among the affected people for free. We had some hungarian celebrities showing the patients how to use the handle in a press conference.
